S/V Dream Chaser

I have been involved in boating all of my life. I grew up on a canal on the Atlantic and was raised on power boats and the Power Squadron. In my early teens I discovered sailing. Within a few years I began teaching sailing on a lake to children of elementary through high school grades. I also taught water skiing and small boat handling. After college I moved to California. By the time I was 28 years old I moved aboard my own boat. I have been living aboard my boats since. Currently I live aboard my Panda 38 cutter, Orion, with my wife Jeannine and our seacat Kiri.

I have always been an oceanographic teacher of sorts. I have taught many people how to use their boats. As the on-the-water instructor/advisor for Silver Gate Yacht Club's Junior Sailing Program, I regularly teach students from the age of eight and up. I have been involved in the California school system's Sea Afloat Oceanographic Project, taking children out to sea and teaching them about the ocean, its inhabitants and the boats they were on. I have taught couples how to sail, live aboard and cruise on their 40-50 foot sailboats. I have taught powerboat owners how to dock and use their new boats. I have helped many people become better boaters and I have introduced boating to many people.

Over the years, I have worked as a crew member and underwater photographer/videographer aboard a research vessel based in Los Angeles and the mothership of a two-person submarine. I am a published author and the creator, producer, videographer of Ocean Harmony, a sailing and scuba diving relaxation video. I have delivered boats from Hawaii, and to San Francisco and Mexico as well as many points in between..

Boating is my lifestyle and my history.
